Laparoscopic surgery is a closed surgery method applied to intra-abdominal organs by entering through only a few small incisions, without making a large incision. In this technique, the operation is performed via a thin camera (laparoscope) placed inside the abdomen and special surgical instruments. Compared to traditional open surgeries, the laparoscopic method offers; less pain, a shorter hospital stay, fast recovery, and aesthetically better results.

In the field of gynecology, laparoscopy; is successfully applied in many conditions such as endometriosis, chocolate cyst, laparoscopic myomectomy (myoma surgery), laparoscopic cyst surgery, laparoscopic hysterectomy (uterus removal surgery), and laparoscopic prolapse surgery. Furthermore, it offers the possibility of performing diagnosis and treatment in the same session during the investigation of infertile couples.

The operation is generally performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon places the camera through a small incision made around the navel and performs the procedure with the help of other surgical instruments. Patients can often be discharged the same day or the next day, and can quickly return to their daily lives.

One of the most important advantages of laparoscopic surgery is that it contributes to the preservation of reproductive health by causing minimal trauma to pelvic organs. Therefore, it is a preferred method especially for women who want to have children.
